What AIR does
AIR follows ~1,800 small and mid-cap US companies. It reads their SEC filings, picks out the material events in them, and puts each company's filings on one timeline next to a score explained in plain words. AIR reads new filings and refreshes every score each trading day; the company universe is reviewed at the end of each month. Alerts tell you when a company you follow moves.
The pipeline, step by step
- Read. Every night after the US close, AIR collects the new SEC EDGAR filings of the companies it follows: 8-Ks, 10-Qs and 10-Ks.
- Classify. Each 8-K is classified by its item numbers. An acquisition, a completed acquisition, a regulatory decision, a major contract or an earnings release makes an 8-K material. For 8-Ks filed under item 8.01, a fixed rule reads the text to find completed acquisitions.
- Summarise. A language model writes a short plain-English summary of material 8-K filings when one is available. A summary that fails AIR's wording check is withheld. 10-Qs and 10-Ks carry no written summary.
- Score. Each trading day AIR refreshes the AIR Score™ (0–100), built from five perspectives — business quality, valuation, documented progress, market behaviour and risk — and the Discovery Gap: how far documented progress runs ahead of market attention.
- Publish. The results appear on the Radar (every filing), the weekly Shortlist, each company's page and the API.
Every filing is on the Radar; by event type, see acquisitions and major contracts. How each perspective is scored is on About.
